IGCSE Chemistry: Atoms, Bonding and Reactions

Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry 0620, Core and Extended: atomic structure, bonding, equations, the mole and rates

7 lessons

Build the foundations every IGCSE chemist needs. You will describe atoms and isotopes, work out the formulae of ionic and covalent compounds, write and balance equations with state symbols, calculate moles and concentrations and interpret rate graphs. Answers are marked like a chemistry examiner would: CO is not Co, H₂O and H2O are the same, and an equation must have the right species, coefficients and arrow.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe the structure of atoms, isotopes and electronic configurations
  • Work out the formulae of ionic and covalent compounds from their ions and bonds
  • Write balanced symbol and ionic equations with state symbols
  • Calculate amounts in moles and concentrations, and interpret rate-of-reaction graphs
